Purse Auction raises $12,000 for Women's Health

Over 200 women enjoyed an evening of wine, cheese, entertainment and shopping at the Hillsboro Lion's Club November 15th.

Kurt Aummann from Aummann Auctions in Nokomis was the entertainment as he cajoled and "purse"uaded many area women to purchase that high-end or unique purse at the live auction. Over 250 purses were auctioned with proceeds benefiting women's health initiatives. Siemens Digital mammography equipment is expected to be installed at Hillsboro Area Hospital in December. Hillsboro Area Hospital is the first hospital in the immediate area to purchase digital mammography equipment.
