| HAH Launches Major Community Health Program To Help Women Receive Life Saving Mammography Screenings |

Breast cancer continues to be the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54 and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74. One in eight women or 12.6 percent of all women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
The Hillsboro Area Health Foundation and Hillsboro Area Hospital are pleased to introduce a program designed to help raise money for mammogram screenings for women in need of assistance: GIVE THE GIFT OF MAMMOGRAM. In partnership with 26 area retail business partners, the program has a goal to raise a minimum of $10,000 in the hopes of providing up to 30 women in the area with a life-saving mammogram screening. At each of the participating retail partner locations, patrons will see a special collection box on countertops with the words, “Small Change Can Make a Big Difference.” 100% of the proceeds raised from Give the Gift of Mammogram will be allocated toward mammogram screening.
